The 1st Asia-Oceania Symposium for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering in Suzhou, China.
The first Asia-Oceania Symposium for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering (AOFSM'1), jointly initiated by the University of Science and Technology of China and the Asia Australia Society for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering, was held in Suzhou from October 9-11. More than 200 experts and scholars from 18 countries and regions, including China, South Korea, Australia, Russia, Japan, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, Turkey and Egypt, attended the conference.
The conference is presided over by Professor Hu Yuan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and University of Science and Technology of China. Zhang Xiaoying, the deputy director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. She briefly introduced the situation of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone in aspects such as talent cultivation and scientific research, and wished the conference a complete success.
A total of 31 invitation presentations and 67 oral presentations were arranged for this meeting. The conference topics include: combustion behavior and flame retardant mechanism of flame retardant materials, flame retardant of polymers and bio-based polymers, combustion behavior of composite materials, flame retardant fibers and fabrics, nanotechnology and synergies, fireproof protection and fireproof coating, industrial application of flame retardant products, fire smoke toxicity, etc. Experts and scholars attending the conference presented their research results and had in-depth discussions and exchanges, jointly looking forward to the development direction of fire safety materials and technology.
The conference also received more than 50 academic posters. In order to encourage postgraduate students and young researchers to actively participate in academic exchanges, the conference set up the Outstanding Academic Poster Award and presented the awards on site.
