The 2nd Asia-Oceania Symposium for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering in Shenzhen, China

The 2nd Asia-Oceania Symposium for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering (AOFSM'2), hosted by Beijing Institute of Technology, was grandly held in Shenzhen, China. This meeting is chaired by Professor Yang Rongjie, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference and Beijing Institute of Technology. Professor Yang Bin, former Executive Vice President of the school, delivered a welcome speech.




The Secretary General of this conference, Professor Zhou Zhengmao from the Flame Retardant Committee of the Chinese Ordnance Engineering Society, Chairman of the First Conference Organizing Committee, and Professor Hu Yuan from the University of Science and Technology of China also attended and delivered speeches.
The meeting focused on eight topics, including "flame retardant behavior and flame retardant mechanism", "design, synthesis and application of flame retardants", "new flame retardant polymer materials and composites", "flame retardant of fibers, fabrics, foams and film materials", "bio-based flame retardants", "toxicity and environmental problems of flame retardant materials", "material fire safety testing, evaluation, and computer simulation", and "mini seminar on flame retardants". More than 200 experts, scholars, and engineers from over 10 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, India, Spain, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan, attended this conference.


Professor Giovanni Camino from Politecnico di Torino in Italy, Academician Wang Qi from Sichuan University, Professor Xu Jian from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and B. from Bolton University in the UK K. Professor Kandola, Professor Terence Richard Hull from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK, Professor Miriam Rafailovich from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in the US, Professor Richard K.K. Yuen from the City University of Hong Kong, Professor Manfred P. K. Döring from the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability in Germany, and Professor S. from the University of Lille in France Professor Bourbigot gave separate conference presentations.
The conference also included a panel on flame retardants, 25 presentations, 35 oral presentations and 128 wall poster presentations. The Asia-Oceania Symposium for Fire Safety Materials Science and Engineering has become one of the world's largest academic conferences in the field of flame retardant .It has made outstanding contributions in strengthening academic exchanges in the research field of fire safety materials, promoting technological innovation in the application field of fire safety materials, and leading the development of the fire safety materials industry. It has far-reaching influence and authoritative academic status.
